ATJ Commission Position: Chair of the LSBA Access to Justice Committee

Judge Lisa Woodruff-White was elected to the East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court, Division B, in 2008. On The Family Court, she has served as Chief Judge and leads the Self-Help Resource Center and self-help services for the Court. Judge Woodruff-White has also served as chair for the Continuing Legal Education committee for the Judicial Council of the National Bar Association and the Louisiana Judicial Council of the National Bar Association. Judge Woodruff-White currently serves on the Executive Board of the Louisiana District Judges Association, where she leads the professional liability insurance committee.  She previously served as President of the Louisiana District Judges Association, served on the legislative committee, and chaired the self-represented litigant committee. She also serves on the Louisiana State Law Institute and works on legislation in family law for the Louisiana Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges.  

In furtherance of her passion for ensuring access to the courts to all citizens, she previously served on the LA Supreme Court’s Self-Represented Litigant’s Committee and now serves on the statewide Access to Justice Commission, as the chair of the Access to Justice Committee for the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Self-Represented Litigant Committee for the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Pro Bono Committee for the Baton Rouge Bar Association. In furtherance of the development of future leaders, Judge Woodruff-White serves on the National Board of Public Allies, a national organization committed to advancing social justice and equity by engaging and enhancing the leadership of all young people.
