ATJ Commission Position: Unrestricted AppointmentVeronica Howard Sizer is Executive Counsel with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP). In this position, she is the chief legal advisor to the Director and administrative staff at GOHSEP. She also supervises a staff of an executive officers, four attorneys and an administrative assistant who all provide disaster related legal services and assistance to over 200 GOHSEP employees, as well as external stakeholders.
Previously, she worked as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel for the Division of Administration and had been assigned to work exclusively with the Louisiana Office of Technology Services. Prior to this, Sizer served in several key leadership positions through state and federal government, including, but not limited to: Executive Director of External Affairs with the Louisiana Recovery School District, attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Education Policy Advisor to Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco for the state of Louisiana, assistant attorney general with the Louisiana Department of Justice under the leadership of the Honorable Richard Ieyoub and as law clerk for the Honorable Curtis A. Calloway at the 19th Judicial District Court.
