ATJ Commission Position: Unrestricted Appointment
Veronica Howard Sizer is Deputy General Counsel with the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP). In this position, she serves as a legal advisor and provides disaster-related legal services and assistance to all GOHSEP divisions and over 200 GOHSEP employees, as well as external stakeholders. Previously, she worked as an attorney in the Office of General Counsel for the Division of Administration and had been assigned to work exclusively with the Louisiana Office of Technology Services. Prior to this, Veronica served in several key leadership positions through state and federal government, including Executive Director of External Affairs with the Louisiana Recovery School District, attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Education Policy Advisor to Governor Kathleen Blanco, assistant attorney general with the Louisiana Department of Justice under the leadership of the Honorable Richard Leyoub and as law clerk for the Honorable Curtis A. Calloway at the 19th Judicial District Court.
