LIFT Graduate from Domestic Violence Project Recognized

Ashley Johnson-Alford, a fellow from the the LIFT Domestic Violence Project, was recognized for her work at the 2025 Louisiana Justice Community Conference. The LIFT Domestic Violence Project was in partnership with Southeast Louisiana Legal Services and focused on assisting survivors of domestic violence obtain relief. Ashley worked tirelessly during her time in the program and served clients throughout southeast Louisiana. Ashley was recognized for her tremedous work as a LIFT fellow and for her continued dedication to serving the needs of low- and moderate-income clients.

Two Attorneys Join LIFT Legal Incubator Flood Proof Program in Baton Rouge


The LSBA Access to Justice program is excited to welcome two new attorneys to the LIFT Incubator program, the Flood Proof Project, in Baton Rouge. Shawn “Pepper” Roussel and LaKendra Sampson are solo practitioners dedicated to increasing access to legal services for people affected by the 2016 catastrophic flooding in Baton Rouge. Learn more about our new participating attorneys and the program under Association Actions in the April/May Bar Journal.
