The Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XIX, Rules for Disciplinary Enforcement governs the creation of the Office of Disciplinary Counsel, the Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board, and the Hearing Committees making up the entire Disciplinary system. Simply responding to a Complaint is but the first step in a complex disciplinary process. While 85% of complaints are screened out, dismissed or mediated throught the LSBA Attorney-Client Assistance Program, around 15% require more formal action.
