2018 Report on the Louisiana Bail System

The Louisiana State Bar Association's Criminal Justice Committee composed a comprehensive report on the current state of pretrial practices in bail setting, both nationally and in Louisiana. The report includes the history of the use of bail in the United States, Louisiana laws and practices pertaining to bail, the changing landscape of bail, and much more. This report is intended to be used for infomrational purposes only. The recommendations in the report have not been adopted by the Louisiana State Bar Association.
