In June 2019, the LSBA House of Delegates Members passed a resolution to amend the Criminal Justice Committee's mission to better refelct the broader scope of the Committee's work and the participation of stakeholders representing all sides of the criminal justice system.

In 2017, Louisiana passed its most comprehensive criminal justice reform in state history. Prior to its passing, the LSBA's House od Delgates adopted Resolution 9 to support Louisiana's efforts for reform.

In June 2015, LSBA’s House of Delegates adopted Resolution 8 opposing the court appointment of private attorneys to represent indigent clients.  The Criminal Justice Committee created a section of resources to assist attorneys who are appointed to represent indigent clients in criminal cases.
