As you explore the many opportunities the LSBA provides for new admittees, we want to ensure you are aware of the programs and resources the LSBA Access to Justice (ATJ) Department offers to attorneys across the state. The ATJ Department staffs supports the Louisiana Access to Justice Commission, which serves as the convener of Louisiana’s civil legal aid network and fosters collaboration among the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Louisiana Supreme Court, the Louisiana Bar Foundation, Louisiana law schools, private practitioners, local bar associations, pro bono programs, and legal aid providers. Together, this coordinated network works to ensure that every Louisiana resident has access to competent civil legal representation and to promote continuity of policy and purpose within the civil justice community—furthering the goal of equal access to justice for all, regardless of economic circumstance.
To see how this network comes together to serve the public, visit the LSBA’s Find Legal Help page. This page details the spectrum of civil legal services available throughout the state—from hiring a private attorney to finding a pro bono or legal aid program to locating reliable information online about numerous civil legal issues.
