YLD Barristers for Boards and Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits
The LSBA Young Lawyers Division is partnering with the Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits through its Barristers for Boards program to connect young lawyers with nonprofit organizations and encourage involvement on nonprofit boards and committees throughout Louisiana.
In September, the YLD and Louisiana Alliance for Nonprofits hosted the Barristers for Boards CLE, which provided young lawyers with board governance training and insight into the opportunities, responsibilities and challenges of nonprofit board service. The program was followed by a Coffee & Connect networking event in New Orleans, giving young lawyers and nonprofit representatives an opportunity to meet and learn more about potential board service.
Upcoming Baton Rouge Networking Event
Young lawyers will have another opportunity to connect with nonprofit organizations at the upcoming Capacity Building Institute Breakfast in Baton Rouge. Nonprofit representatives will share information about their organizations, missions and impact, as well as opportunities for young lawyers to contribute their skills and expertise through board and committee service.

The Barristers for Boards program aims to help young lawyers become more involved in their communities while providing nonprofit organizations with access to the skills and expertise of Louisiana’s young lawyers.
