Register today with LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org!

The LSBA is excited to announce the launch of LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org. LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org is a new website that connects low-income individuals with attorneys. Through the website, attorney volunteers will be able to log in whenever and wherever they like to anonymously respond to legal questions submitted by individuals who could not otherwise afford to consult an attorney.

The LSBA has partnered with the American Bar Association (ABA) to operated the site. Louisiana will be one of the 38 states participating in this new project. The ABA will run the site, maintain the software, and provide liability insurance. The LSBA, through its Access to Justice Department, will be responsible for recruiting volunteers to answer the online submissions and making the public aware of the services.

To learn more about LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org, please click here to review a PDF document that details how our site will fit into the nationwide effort, how the site works for users, how users are screened, and how the site functions for attorney volunteers.

If you would like to learn even more about LA.FreeLegalAnswers.org, please watch the this YouTube video created by the ABA. The video is 15 minutes long, and explains in detail how the site will operate.
