Family Law

Family Law Testing

Each applicant is required to pass a two part examination in the year of application. The first part is a take home examination that will be emailed to each applicant in early July. The applicant is to return the first part of the examination to the Specialization Director, before the second part of the examination is administered. The first part of the exam must be completed and submitted for grading prior to being allowed to sit for the second part of the exam. The second part is an in person examination that is administered on the first Saturday in August in a monitored setting at the Louisiana Bar Center in New Orleans. The in person examination may also be administered via a virtual controlled and proctored setting at the discretion of the Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization.
